A title, a genre, a note about the book if you like. Run as many books as you want; each gets its own bible and its own history.
Paste your draft. A live word count and a cost preview show what you’re about to send. Pick which partners read this chapter. Every submission becomes a new version; earlier drafts stay in your history.
Findings from each partner, grouped by severity. Resolve any bible drift inline. Revise when you’re ready; the bible follows along, and past critiques stay readable next to the new one.
We never train AI on your writing, and neither do the leading models we build on. Your chapters are encrypted in transit and at rest, private to your account, and never sold or shared. The critique system that reads them is our own.
What it costs
Each critique costs credits: more for long chapters or many partners, fewer for shorter passes. Plans include monthly credits; top up whenever you need. You see the exact cost before you submit, and a running ledger shows where every credit went.

No. There is no generate-a-chapter feature. Critique Partner only gives feedback on prose you wrote. Every word of the manuscript stays yours, and the output is commentary, not replacement text.
No. Critique Partner sends your text to commercial model providers under agreements that prohibit training on it, and we neither train on it ourselves nor sell it to anyone.
Grammar and style checkers work at the sentence level: passive voice, adverbs, repeated words. Critique Partner works at the level a developmental editor does - pacing, character motivation, stakes, structure, whether a scene earns its place - and it reads each chapter in the context of the whole book.
Yes. You can import a finished manuscript as a .docx, .txt or .pdf file and it will be split into chapters and read as a whole book. You can also work chapter by chapter as you draft.
Yes. Ask your manuscript is a conversation with a reader that has your entire book in front of it rather than a single chapter. It is good for patterns that only show up across chapters - motifs and themes, where the pacing sags, whether chapter 27 pays off something set up in chapter 3 - and for checking what is actually in your manuscript. It reads for shape, so line-level craft and exhaustive detail remain your critique partners' job. Answers can be emailed to you and kept.
A story bible is a running record of your characters, settings, and plot threads. Critique Partner builds and updates yours automatically from the chapters you submit, and flags contradictions between what a new chapter says and what earlier ones established. You can edit any entry, but you do not have to keep it current by hand.
Yes. A project can be marked as non-fiction, which brings in a separate set of critique partners tuned for argument, evidence, and structure rather than character and scene.
Pricing is credit-based. Monthly plans include a credit allowance, and separately purchased credit packs never expire. Plan credits expire at renewal; purchased credits survive cancellation. Current prices are on the pricing page.
